The GAA Basketball Board is thrilled to announce that registration for the 2022/23 REC Basketball Season is officially open!!!

Carefully Read How This Season Will Be Different!!!

Safety Guidelines:

GAA Basketball will follow all CDC Guidelines for Youth Sports, Governors Executive Orders, Georgia High School Association (GHSA) protocols and Facility Directives!

Partnerships:

GAA Basketball is excited to once again partner with the Atlanta Hawks!!! Our new partnership provides each registered participant with two (2) tickets to a Atlanta Hawks home game as well as brand new Adidas uniforms!!!

GAA Basketball is also excited to announce our returning partnership with Wolfpack Elite Basketball!!! This partnership will provide each registered participant with the opportunity to attend "Skills and Drills" training sessions held by the Wolfpack Elite Basketball training staff throughout the season!!!

Registration Dates:

August 3rd - October 9th 

Cost:

The cost to participate this season will be $200.00. 

Cost Includes: Two (2) Atlanta Hawks tickets, Skills & Drills Training Sessions, Season Ending Award, Adidas Game Uniform, Shooting Shirt, Gym Rental Fees, Referee Cost and other operating expenses.

Age Divisions:

Participants will be divided by age as of September 1st, 2022. Age groups may be combined to form a league based upon the number of registrants. 

The following divisions will be offered this season: 

Facilities 

All basketball activities will take place at various facilities located within a 10 mile radius of Grayson city limits. 

Skills Evaluations

Skill Evaluations will be held in mid-October. The goal of the GAA REC Leagues is to provide the most balanced and competitive set of teams possible in all leagues. To accomplish that goal, all participants must attend mandatory Skill Evaluations to be assessed so that we can evenly distribute participants of each skill level across all teams. 

Practices

Each team will be assigned a practice day/time of Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday during the season. Prior to the first game, teams will practice twice per week. Once games begin, practices will be held once per week. 

Games

Each team will be scheduled for eight (8) regular season games and a single elimination season ending tournament. 

Volunteers 

We are in need of volunteers 16 years of age or older to assist as scorebook keepers, clock operators and photographers during game day activities beginning in December and lasting until February as well at our community pep rally. All volunteers will receive training and support throughout the season. This requires a 2-3 hour commitment for games held on Saturdays or weeknights. We will sign for all volunteer/community service hours performed.

Coaches

Are you interested in becoming a Coach with our program this season??? We are officially seeking Volunteers to fulfill Head and Assistant Coaches vacancies!!! Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required as all coaches will attend the GAA Basketball Coaching Clinic as well as have the opportunity to attend the 2022 Atlanta Hawks Coaching Clinic FREE of charge!!!
